Mobile Grooming for Anxious/Fearful Dogs

Some dogs find grooming stressful, especially if they’ve had negative experiences in the past, are naturally shy, or struggle with sensory sensitivities. At Green Dog Mobile Grooming, we provide a calm, one-on-one grooming environment designed to reduce anxiety and build trust over time.

Because we groom in a fully equipped mobile salon at your home, your dog avoids noisy salon environments, long waits, and handling by multiple people. Instead, they receive quiet, personalized care—without ever leaving their driveway. Our one-on-one approach helps create a sense of security and comfort.

If your dog is anxious or fearful, we adjust the appointment based on what they can handle. We work slowly, read their body language, and offer breaks as needed. If your dog benefits from medication prescribed by your vet to stay calm during grooming, that’s absolutely fine—just let us know in the Note section when booking.

For dogs that are known to bite or have a history of aggression, a muzzle may be required for safety. You are welcome to provide your own, or we can use a well-fitted, comfortable muzzle from our equipment.

Bath & Brush Appointments include:

• Bath with iGroom Deshedding + Detangling Shampoo, iGroom 50:1 Gentle Clean, Earthbath Hypo-Allergenic Shampoo, or Earthbath Oatmeal & Aloe
• Conditioning with iGroom Deshedding + Detangling Conditioner, iGroom Argan + Vitamin E Conditioner, or Earthbath Oatmeal & Aloe Creme Rinse, depending on coat needs
• External anal gland expression, if needed
• Gentle blow-drying with a K9 II high-velocity dryer (towel drying available for noise-sensitive dogs)
• Brushing to remove loose coat and prevent tangles
• Nail trim and ear cleaning

Groom Appointments include everything above, plus a pet trim tailored to your dog's coat type, comfort level, and tolerance for handling.

We understand that anxious dogs may need extra time, space, and understanding. Our mobile setup and compassionate handling are designed to support:

• Dogs with noise sensitivities or sensory processing issues
• Pets recovering from trauma or fearful of handling
• Shy or undersocialized rescue dogs
