Your Dog’s First Mobile Grooming Experience
Whether you have a brand new puppy or an older dog who’s never been professionally groomed before, we understand that the first visit can be a big deal—for both of you! At Green Dog Mobile Grooming, we offer one-on-one care in a low-stress environment right outside your door to help make that first experience a positive one.
We take extra time to introduce your dog to the sights, sounds, and sensations of grooming at their own pace. If your dog shows signs of nervousness or stress, we adjust the process to keep things calm and reassuring. Some dogs may take a couple of visits to feel fully comfortable—and that’s perfectly normal.
First-time grooms can be either a bath & brush or a groom appointment, depending on your dog’s coat and needs.
What to Expect When We Arrive
Here’s how the process works when we arrive at your home:
- We’ll send a text when we're on our way, including an estimated time of arrival (ETA).
- Once we arrive, you’re welcome to have your dog leashed and ready outside, or we’ll knock or ring the bell to let you know we’re here.
- If you'd like, you're welcome to walk your dog out to the grooming van with us so they can sniff around, look inside, and see that it’s a calm, safe space.
- Once your dog is comfortable, we’ll gently guide them into the van to begin the grooming process.
- We’ll check in with you about any special needs, preferences, or concerns before we get started.
This gentle introduction helps your dog feel secure and makes future grooming visits easier and more familiar.
What’s Included in Every Bath or Groom Appointment
Bath & Brush Appointments include:
- Bath with iGroom Deshedding + Detangling Shampoo, iGroom 50:1 Gentle Clean, Earthbath Hypo-Allergenic Shampoo, or Earthbath Oatmeal & Aloe
- Conditioning with iGroom Deshedding + Detangling Conditioner, iGroom Argan + Vitamin E Conditioner, or Earthbath Oatmeal & Aloe Creme Rinse, depending on coat needs
- External anal gland expression, if needed
- Drying with a K9 II high-velocity dryer
- Brushing to remove loose coat and prevent tangles
- Nail trim and ear cleaning
Groom Appointments include everything above, plus a pet trim customized to your dog’s coat, lifestyle, and comfort.
If your dog may benefit from calming medication, that’s completely okay. Just let us know in the Note section when booking your appointment that you plan to give your dog medication in advance.
