The Boxer is known for its athletic build and a sleek, tight-fitting coat that sits close to the body. Because they have a single-layer coat without an undercoat, shedding happens steadily throughout the year instead of in cycles. Those short, firm hairs don’t stay on the dog long—they tend to work their way into carpets, clothing, and upholstery pretty quickly. Regular grooming helps stay ahead of that by removing loose hair before it ends up all over your home.
For this coat type, the right fit is our Single-Coated (Smooth) Bath & Brush. Each appointment is one-on-one, so your dog gets full attention in a calm, comfortable, temperature-controlled space right outside your home. It keeps the experience relaxed and allows us to work at a pace that suits your dog.

With a Boxer, the focus is getting the coat truly clean at the skin level and rinsed out completely. We use iGroom Squeaky Clean Shampoo paired with an Argan and Vitamin E Conditioner for most dogs like this. It’s biodegradable, naturally inspired, and does a thorough job of cleaning without leaving anything behind on the coat.
That clean rinse makes a difference in North Phoenix. If even a small amount of residue is left behind, the coat can feel slightly tacky and start holding onto dust and loose hair again almost right away. When it’s rinsed properly, the coat feels smooth, clean, and stays that way longer between visits.
For dogs with more sensitive skin, we switch to iGroom Hypoallergenic Shampoo. It’s a gentle, fragrance-free option that still gets the coat clean without causing irritation.

Handling matters just as much as the products we use. Boxers are strong, active dogs, and being a brachycephalic breed, they can be more sensitive to heat and exertion. We keep a close eye on breathing and comfort throughout the appointment, and the climate-controlled van helps maintain a steady, comfortable environment.
Everything is done with steady, controlled handling so your dog stays balanced and comfortable, especially during drying and nail work. We also take the opportunity during the bath and blow-dry to keep an eye on the skin—checking for any new bumps, irritation, or changes that are easier to spot on a short-coated dog.
Nails are finished with a two-step process: a clip followed by a Dremel. That smooth finish helps prevent scratching and makes a noticeable difference in how your dog moves around the house.

Keeping your Boxer on a 4 to 8 week schedule makes everything easier—less shedding around the house, a cleaner coat, and a smoother experience for your dog each time. When grooming is consistent, there’s less buildup to deal with and the whole process stays quick and comfortable.
